#!@#!! Cricut

Considering all the money I have invested in my Cricut and cartridges, it's very frustrating when the darned machine (or is it the cartridge?) doesn't work correctly. I wanted to cut this awesome tree and use the shadow feature to cut a slightly larger opening in my card base to set it in. When I tried all I got was a "Not available" message. WRONG! It IS a feature of this cartridge!! I had to settle for cutting the image in a larger size which didn't give me the even opening I was after but will just have to do.

Fortunately, my trusty Cuttlebug and PTI alpha die set worked perfectly for cutting the letters. I have to say that I love my manual die cutting machines and use them way more often than the electronic beast.

Anyway, I made this card for the CAS-ual Fridays challenge to use trees or flowers in  a CAS creation. I like it anyway because I LOVE this silly tree. I think I bought that darned cartridge just for this tree. lol

DYSU Challenge 69-Case the Design Team

Welcome back for another round of fun! Did you guys have fun with the Stripes challenge last week? It's time for another challenge and this week we're asking you to CASE the D.T!

So, take some inspiration from our talented team, colors, sketch, themes, style, however your inspiration takes you! Of course, if you take inspiration from us, we love to hear from you, so make sure to stop by your D.T. inspiration this week and leave her some love :-)

We have three amazing sponsors this week:

Little Darlings - $10 Gift Certificate

A Day for Daisies - $16 gift certificate

The Paper Shelter - $20 Gift Certificate

I used this adorable Little Darlings Spring Is In The Air 2012: Isn't She Lovely image for my card.  This image reminds me of my daughter when she was little-the tilt of the head and the hand holding her dress-so sweet.

Welcome Baby

I saw this adorable Over The Moon mini digital kit at Two Peas and just had to have it. Why? I have no need for new baby cards. The cute graphics, soft colors and fun papers just forced me to hit that Paypal button. lol I know I'll be able to use the papers for other cards so it wasn't a totally frivolous buy.

This first card was made using the sketch over at the CAS-ual Fridays sketch challenge this week. It's a very CAS sketch-I don't see those too often, so it was fun to give it a shot.

I decided to make a card for the Runway Inspired Challenge too. I've never played in their challenges but it looks like I may have to. Love the clean style of many of the design team and participant creations. Go check them out!

Something Fishy This Way Comes

Oh my! They have announced the new design team members over at CAS-ual Fridays and we are in for some fantastic inspiration! Hop on over and follow the links to all the old and new designers' blogs to get a hint of what I'm talking about. You won't regret it.

Along with the announcement, a new challenge has been posted-Opposites Attract. Use opposite colors from the color wheel. I chose blue and orange to make my fishy card. The hardest part of this card was getting the sentiment printed on as I forgot that step until I had already cut the border and side opening...thank goodness for re-positional tape. lol Come on over to CAS-ual Fridays and play along.

Let The Hunt Begin...

the hunt for something you'd find in an Easter basket. That's the challenge over at CAS-ual Fridays this week. I could have gone with bunnies or chicks but I wanted to use this cute Robyn's Fetish Ms. Lamb digital stamp. Lambs are certainly a sign of Easter, but in case you've never found one in your Easter basket, let the grass she is standing in count as something that is usually found in them.

I really wanted to use the sentiment "I pity the wool" with this image but couldn't think of an inside message to go with it that wasn't obnoxious. lol If you can think of something let me know!

There are some very pretty creations for this challenge. It's nice to see signs of spring in our crafting! Hop on over to CAS-ual Fridays and join in the fun!

DYSU Challenge 66 - Friendly Critters

I am expecting to see some adorable cards for this week's DYSU challenge! Seriously, how can you go wrong with a theme of friendly critters?!

5 Gift Certificate

Winner’s choice of 7 digital images

Winner’s choice of 4 digital images

I got to use this fabulous Scrapper's Delights digital stamp for my card this week.  Love this bee with the flower umbrella! There are so many punny cards to be made with bees that they are one of my favorite images to play with.

Why don't you drop by DYSU and join in the fun of creating a project with friendly critters? I look forward to seeing your creations!
